We're building a real-time intelligence platform for a niche investment market — turning hundreds of thousands of public documents and live data feeds into a fast, trustworthy, queryable product. You'd be the first and, initially, the only developer. You own the architecture, and you build it. This is a build-from-zero role for someone who codes the way the best people now code: with AI doing the typing and you doing the thinking.

How you work

We're looking for someone who is already fluent in AI-assisted development — not curious about it. In practice that means:

You drive agents

You set up the whole environment — coding agents, tools, context, guardrails — and let them do the heavy lifting while you steer. You've done this before and you have opinions about how to do it well.

You work in loops. Spec → generate → run → verify → refine. You design systems so an agent can build, test, and correct its own work inside a tight iteration cycle, and you build the verification harnesses that make those loops trustworthy rather than a gamble.

You think in systems and specs.

Your leverage comes from clear architecture, good context engineering, and knowing exactly what "correct" looks like — not from hand-writing every line.

What we build

You won't build all of it at once, and you won't be alone forever — but you'll lay the foundations everything else is built on: Ingestion pipelines pulling from regulated data sources, disclosures, news, and real-time market feeds — idempotent, deduplicated, and fresh within minutes.

An extraction and QA layer — LLM structured-output extraction behind a layered quality gate that promotes raw candidates into verified, source-grounded facts.

A versioned, lineage-carrying data layer across relational, vector, and graph stores.

An agentic serving layer — a retrieval and reasoning loop behind a router, with caching and batch enrichment so reads stay cheap at scale.

The product surface on top of it all.

Your profile

• You probably have 5+ years building production software, with real architecture ownership.
• You've designed systems from scratch — chosen the data model, the stores, the service boundaries — and lived with the consequences.
• This is an architecture-first role: you decide how the whole thing fits together, and the quality of that judgment is what we're hiring for.
• Strong full-stack ability, comfortable across backend, data, and enough frontend to ship a real product.
• Real experience with the modern data/AI stack: Postgres (and pgvector), a graph store, LLM orchestration (LangGraph / LlamaIndex or similar), queues or streaming, object storage.
• A track record of building and shipping end to end.
• Comfort with ambiguity. You'd rather be handed a hard problem than a detailed ticket.

Nice to have

Data-heavy or document-extraction products; RAG / GraphRAG; high-freshness systems.
