Key Responsibilities:1. Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Lead development of:
    • Master project schedule (Level 1 / Level 2 / Level 3)
    • Detailed fabrication and erection schedules
  • Define work breakdown structure (WBS) aligned with project scope.
  • Establish milestones for:
    • Engineering
    • Procurement
    • Fabrication
    • Assembly & load-out
2. Progress Monitoring & Control

  • Track and monitor project progress against baseline schedules.
  • Identify delays, risks, and bottlenecks in fabrication activities.
  • Implement corrective actions and recovery plans.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to management.

3. Resource Planning

  • Plan and optimize:
    • Manpower
    • Equipment
    • Yard capacity utilization
  • Coordinate with departments to ensure resource availability aligns with schedule.
4. Interface Management

  • Coordinate with:
    • Engineering (drawing release schedules)
    • Procurement (material delivery schedules)
    • Fabrication teams (shop progress)
    • QA/QC (inspection timelines)
  • Ensure smooth integration across all project functions.
5. Project Controls & Reporting

  • Establish project control systems for:
    • Schedule tracking
    • Cost monitoring (if applicable)
    • Progress measurement (physical & weighted)
  • Generate key reports:
    • Daily/weekly/monthly progress reports
    • S-curve analysis
    • Look-ahead schedules (2-week / 4-week)
    • Delay analysis reports
6. Risk & Delay Management

  • Identify planning risks and mitigation measures.
  • Perform delay analysis (EOT, concurrency, critical path impact).
  • Develop contingency and recovery strategies.

7. System & Tools Management

  • Oversee use of planning tools such as:
    • Primavera (P6)
    • MS Project
    • E-ALPS / ERP systems
  • Ensure accuracy and discipline in data inputs.
8. Client & Stakeholder Interaction

  • Participate in client meetings for schedule review.
  • Present progress status and mitigation plans.
  • Address client queries related to planning and scheduling.

9. Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor planning engineers and planners.
  • Assign responsibilities and monitor team performance.
  • Ensure standardization of planning practices across project.

10. Documentation & Compliance

  • Ensure all planning documentation complies with:
    • Contractual requirements
    • Company procedures
  • Maintain change logs, schedule revisions, and baseline approvals.
