We are looking for a Middle+/Senior Data Engineer to join a long-term enterprise BI and analytics program supporting a complex data ecosystem built on IBM DataStage, SQL Server, and multiple reporting platforms.
This role is focused primarily on analysis, investigation, and optimization of existing data flows and is expected to evolve into new ETL development.
The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex data problems, tracing data lineage across multiple systems, understanding business logic, and working closely with both technical and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with IBM DataStage 11.x, including Parallel Jobs, Sequence Jobs, and Server Jobs
- Strong Microsoft SQL Server knowledge, including advanced Transact-SQL development and performance optimization
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and reporting ecosystems
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure or AWS
- Experience analyzing and troubleshooting complex data flows across multiple systems
- Experience with source-to-target mapping and data lineage analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
- Strong Linux/Unix skills
- Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher English
Will be a plus
- Experience with enterprise reporting platforms such as Cognos, SSRS, Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools
- Experience with legacy data warehouse modernization or migration initiatives
- Experience with multiple source systems and heterogeneous data environments
Responsibilities
- Analyze, maintain, enhance, and support existing ETL/ELT processes built with IBM DataStage
- Investigate data discrepancies and identify root causes across source systems, staging environments, and reporting platforms
- Trace data lineage and understand source-to-target mappings
- Analyze business logic used in enterprise reporting and analytics solutions
- Collaborate with business users and technical teams to gather requirements and clarify data-related questions
- Propose practical improvements to existing processes and data workflows
- Develop and maintain documentation for data flows, ETL processes, and system dependencies
- Implement targeted enhancements and optimizations when required
- Support operational continuity across enterprise BI environments
What We Value
We value engineers who can quickly understand unfamiliar systems, work effectively across legacy and modern technologies, and translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions.
Deep expertise in every technology is not expected. Strong analytical capability, data investigation skills, and adaptability are considered more valuable than narrow specialization in a single platform
Working Environment
- Long-term enterprise analytics engagement
- Distributed international team
- Direct collaboration with customer stakeholders
- Opportunity to contribute to modernization initiatives alongside operational activities
- Exposure to complex BI, data warehousing, and reporting ecosystems
We offer
- Regular performance-based salary reviews.
- Flexible schedule and the option to work remotely.
- Paid vacation, sick leave, and public holidays.
- Health insurance or sports compensation after the probation period.
- Partial reimbursement for English language courses.
- Decent salary, tax assistance.
- Friendly teams, experienced colleagues, and perfect work equipment.
