Role Description

Sr. Java Developer

Job Summary

The Java Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance backend applications using Java and modern technologies. The role involves building RESTful APIs, Microservices, and event-driven applications while leveraging cloud-native platforms to deliver secure, reliable, and enterprise-grade solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust Java-based backend applications.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Develop RESTful APIs and Microservices using Spring Boot.
  • Build event-driven applications using Apache Kafka.
  • Develop applications using SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Deploy and maintain cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure.
  • Develop and support containerized applications using Kubernetes.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code following coding standards and best practices.
  • Perform unit testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical design sessions.
  • Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and Business teams to deliver high-quality software.
  • Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC best practices.

Must Have Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience in Java/J2EE development.
  • Expertise in Core Java (Java 8+), Collections, and Multithreading.
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
  • Strong experience in Microservices architecture.
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs and Web Services (REST/JSON, SOAP).
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka.
  • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Good exposure to Microsoft Azure Cloud services.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Knowledge of Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills.

Good to Have Skills

  • Experience with Docker and containerization.
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
  • Exposure to Redis, MongoDB, or other distributed databases.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or Splunk.
  • Understanding of cloud-native architecture and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with software design patterns and distributed systems.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
