About the role
Position: Programme Director SAS (Credit Risk)
Contract Type: 6-Month Contract
Location: Sydney
Rate: Up to $120 AUD per hour
Our client is seeking an experienced Programme Director SAS (Credit Risk) to lead and support big data platform teams for a high-profile project in the banking sector. You will be responsible for end-to-end project management, including planning, budgeting, staffing, and delivery of key initiatives. This role bridges the gap between business stakeholders and Agile development teams, ensuring project objectives align with the client’s overarching business and technology strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and staffing strategies.
- Deliver project outcomes by managing scope, cost, schedule, and contractual deliverables.
- Serve as a liaison between key client stakeholders and Agile teams.
- Balance quality, risk, budget, and time-to-market considerations.
- Define and translate requirements into actionable deliverables, including epics, features, and stories.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with non-functional requirements (NFRs).
- Remove impediments for Agile teams and mentor junior consultants.
- Lead teams to deliver solutions sensitive to performance SLAs, high availability, and fault tolerance.
The Successful Candidate
Mandatory Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years in project management, including experience in IT consulting or technology businesses.
- Proven expertise in data initiatives such as governance, modernization, migration, reporting, and analytics.
- Familiarity with project delivery frameworks: Scaled Agile, Agile Sprints, Kanban, and Waterfall.
- Solid understanding of data platforms, cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP), containerization, and networking.
- Experience in software development lifecycle management.
- Strong background in banking projects and financial systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor colleagues, and influence senior stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related engineering fields.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master, Agile certifications).
