Software Engineer

About the Role

A Software Engineer position is available within a collaborative applications team supporting the modernisation of critical enterprise systems.

The team is currently undertaking a significant transformation project focused on migrating legacy custom development from unsupported Oracle Forms technology into Oracle APEX while modernising key user-facing applications and interfaces.

The broader environment provides exposure to enterprise applications, software development, integrations, application support and continuous improvement initiatives within a large-scale organisation.

You will operate as a hands-on contributor, responsible for converting Oracle Forms into Oracle APEX Forms, developing and maintaining applications, supporting integration activities and contributing across the full software development lifecycle.

This role will suit someone who enjoys application development, modernisation projects and working closely with stakeholders and developers within a collaborative team environment.

This is initially a 12-month fixed-term contract with strong extension potential. High-performing individuals may have opportunities to contribute to future projects as additional initiatives are released.

You Should Have

• Around four to five years of total commercial software development experience

• Commercial experience developing applications using Oracle technologies

• Experience working across the full software development lifecycle

• Application development, integration and maintenance experience

• Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills

• Ability to work effectively within a team environment

Technical Requirements

Must Have

• 4+ years commercial Oracle PL/SQL experience

• 2+ years commercial Oracle APEX Forms experience

• Commercial front-end development experience

• Experience across the full software development lifecycle

• Application development, integration and maintenance experience

• Strong team collaboration skills

Nice to Have

• C# / .NET development experience

• Java development experience

• JavaScript, HTML and CSS3 experience

• jDeveloper experience

• REST API development experience

• Bootstrap and jQuery experience

• XML experience

• Experience within complex enterprise environments

• ITIL experience or certification

Key Responsibilities

• Convert Oracle Forms into Oracle APEX Forms

• Develop and maintain user-facing applications

• Deliver software enhancements and simplification initiatives

• Support integration and application maintenance activities

• Participate across the full software development lifecycle

• Analyse, develop, test and deploy software solutions

• Support business-as-usual and continuous improvement initiatives

• Ensure solutions align with best-practice standards

Working Arrangements

• Hybrid working model

• Minimum 50% office attendance per fortnight

• Preferred office days are Monday and Wednesday

• Employees can select an additional office day

• No fully remote arrangements

• Initial 12-month fixed-term contract

• ASAP start available

Salary

Package paying up to $149,000 inclusive of superannuation depending on experience.
