Job Description:
You will join the Neural Network Compression Tools team within the OpenVINO Developer Tools organization. As an AI Research Engineer/Scientist, you will drive the development of the Neural Network Compression Framework (NNCF). Your responsibilities will include the research and development of state-of-the-art (SOTA) compression algorithms, specifically tailored for high-performance neural network inference optimization within the OpenVINO ecosystem.

The Software Team drives customer value by enabling differentiated experiences through leadership AI technologies and foundational software stacks, products, and services. The group is responsible for developing the holistic strategy for client and data center software in collaboration with OSVs, ISVs, developers, partners and OEMs. The group delivers specialized NPU IP to enable the AI PC and GPU IP to support all of Intel's market segments. The group also has HW and SW engineering experts responsible for delivering IP, SOCs, runtimes, and platforms to support the CPU and GPU/accelerator roadmap, inclusive of integrated and discrete graphics.

Annual Salary Range for this job which could be performed in Ireland is: €76,900.00 - €120,100.00 The compensation range displayed in this posting reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for this position. Within this range, individual pay is determined by job related skills, experience, and relevant education, training. As part of our total compensation approach, the final offer may include additional pay components and benefits. Your recruiting team will share the confirmed base salary along with any applicable total compensation elements upon employment offer delivery.

Job Description:
You will join the Neural Network Compression Tools team within the OpenVINO Developer Tools organization. As an AI Research Engineer/Scientist, you will drive the development of the Neural Network Compression Framework (NNCF). Your responsibilities will include the research and development of state-of-the-art (SOTA) compression algorithms, specifically tailored for high-performance neural network inference optimization within the OpenVINO ecosystem.
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field (with a focus on AI/Deep Learning). - Experienced in Python programming as well as understanding of modern programming paradigms and patterns. - Proven experience in Deep Learning model optimization (specifically Quantization, Pruning, or Sparsity). - Experienced in model training frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, and inference solutions such as OpenVINO. - At least 3 years of software development. - Spoken and written English: upper-intermediate or advanced. Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications: - Hardware Awareness: Understanding of how neural networks map to hardware (CPU, GPU, NPU) and why specific optimizations are necessary for memory-constrained environments. - Familiarity with modern Large Language Model architectures (Transformers, Diffusers, etc.).
