The speed at which we ship and test initiatives is crucial in our rapidly changing industry. A year from now, we want our R&D team shipping at 10x speed. Things that take 2 weeks today should take hours.

We’re hiring a Staff Engineer to own AI & Engineering Velocity. You figure out how we go from idea to production fast and you lead by doing it yourself. Your win is everyone else getting faster, not you being the hero who ships everything.

• We're 10x faster from idea to production. Shipping a testable version of a feature is a same-day thing, not a sprint.
• AI is just how we build now. Claude Code and the tools around it are part of everyone's day. And you've made it safe, with the tests, reviews and guardrails that let us move fast without blowing things up.
• The path is clear for the team. Our main repos and services are set up so AI works well on them and everyone has a clear, low-friction way to build with it.
• We run way more experiments and iterations, kill the bad ones fast and double down on the winners, because trying something barely costs anything anymore.

This is a hands-on builder role with no direct reports, your influence comes from the code you write and how you get the team working, not from managing people. You'll:

• Write production code with AI agents as a normal part of how you work and keep pushing what that workflow can do.
• Build the setup that lets any engineer ship fast with AI: prompts, context, conventions, tools and evals.
• Use AI across the whole job, not just writing code. Debugging, reviews, incidents, finding your way around the codebase.
• Put the guardrails in place that keep speed safe: testing, code review, security, tuned for a heavy-AI workflow
• Sit with engineers, level up their AI skills and unblock them. You spread this by showing people, not by handing down rules.
• Decide how we measure AI-enabled engineering, adoption, quality and impact on speed and actually track it

You're probably a fit if:

• You've personally shipped real software fast with agentic coding tools and you can show us the difference it made.
• You write code other engineers trust and you know when AI output is gold and when it's a trap.
• You actually want to make other people better. You'd rather make 10 engineers twice as fast than ship it all yourself.

• Backend depth in Node.js (our main backend) and able to move into Python for AI/ML work
• Shipped LLM features for real users - embeddings, vector search, RAG, prompt engineering and evals
• Agentic workflow orchestration - hands-on with LangGraph or similar
• Comfortable across our data stack - PostgreSQL / Aurora-MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, S3, plus BigQuery for analytics
• Fast, safe shipping habits - GitHub Actions / Docker pipeline, Datadog for observability

• Working knowledge of AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3)
• LLM observability - Langfuse or similar
• Vector search / similarity systems
• TypeScript / React / Node SSR
• Feature-flagged experimentation - LaunchDarkly

• Gross 7,500–9,000 eur / month + Stock options
• Hybrid, at least 3 days a week at our Vilnius Tech Park office
• Private health insurance after 3 months
• A personal learning budget, AI tools and subscriptions included
• The freedom to test ideas and actually ship them, not sit through months of review

This is high-urgency, high-ownership work at the edge of how software gets built, often with no playbook to copy. You'll be changing how a whole team works. If you want well-defined scope, settled process and a clean split between the people who decide and the people who code, this won't be a fit.
