Strategic Designer / Senior UI/UX Designer

We are looking for a Freelancer Senior Strategic Designer with strong experience in UI/UX design, discovery, branding, ideation, and creative design processes. This is a senior client-facing role where the candidate will lead design conversations, facilitate workshops, and help clients turn business challenges into meaningful digital product experiences.

The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on: able to guide product vision, lead discovery and ideation, create user-centered design solutions, and collaborate closely with Product Managers, Solution Architects, and development teams

Responsibilities

• Lead client-facing discovery sessions, design workshops, ideation sessions, and creative strategy discussions.
• Translate business goals, user needs, and client input into strong design concepts and product experiences.
• Create and guide UX strategy, information architecture, user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs.
• Support branding, visual identity, design direction, and creative concept development when needed.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Solution Architects to align design direction with business goals and technical feasibility.
• Present design concepts and strategic recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
• Lead or support user research, competitor analysis, usability testing, and design validation.
• Ensure consistency and quality across design systems, UI components, and overall product experience.
• Work closely with development teams, including teams based in Vietnam, to ensure accurate design implementation.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in Strategic Design, UX Design, UI Design, Product Design, or Service Design.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating UI/UX design, digital product thinking, and strategic design process.
• Proven experience leading client-facing workshops, discovery phases, and ideation sessions.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design, design thinking, interaction design, and usability principles.
• Experience with branding, visual design, and creative direction is highly preferred.
• Able to communicate design rationale clearly and confidently to clients and internal teams.
• Experience working closely with Product Managers, Solution Architects, and developers.
• Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, FigJam, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
• Strong facilitation, storytelling, and presentation skills.
• English is required; Dutch is preferred.
• Based in the Netherlands or able to work closely with Netherlands-based clients (Working hours: 09:00 – 17:00 CET)
