Job Overview

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for building, automating, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and applications. This role combines systems administration, automation engineering, and build-and-release expertise to support scalable, reliable, and secure software delivery. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with development teams to deploy and manage world-class manufacturing and enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain complete environment stacks, including microservices, databases, and production infrastructure.
  • Create scripts and templates to provision and manage AWS and Azure services supporting custom Java and .NET applications.
  • Assist development teams in containerizing microservices and deploying them using orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker Swarm.
  • Analyze operational methods, integration tools, monitoring solutions, and support processes to improve efficiency and system stability.
  • Collaborate with software developers, vendors, and support teams to evaluate software, hardware, tools, and operational processes.
  • Generate operational, trend, and statistical reports to support infrastructure performance and decision-making.
  • Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery solutions that support business continuity and availability requirements.
  • Participate in the design, evaluation, and implementation of infrastructure-related technologies and solutions.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud, deployment, monitoring, and support technologies.
  • Coordinate infrastructure support activities involving onsite, remote, and offshore contractors.
  • Support infrastructure security administration, compliance, and audit requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 4+ years of IT experience, including at least 1 year working with AWS in a team-based development environment.
  • Experience deploying cloud-based applications within AWS environments.
  • Strong experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong Linux/Unix administration background.
  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
  • Experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools including Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Ability to work with a broad range of open-source technologies and cloud services.
  • Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
  • Experience with NoSQL technologies, preferably Cassandra, MongoDB, and ELK Stack.
  • Working knowledge of scripting and programming languages such as Python, Perl, PHP, or Ruby.
  • Experience with CI/CD and build automation tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, or GitHub Actions.
  • Strong understanding of IT operations supporting highly available, always-on services.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure governance, security, and operational best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with build tools such as Maven, Ant, Gradle, or Rake.
  • Familiarity with SEMI standards.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Experience working for or supporting equipment suppliers in the electronics or semiconductor industries.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (typically less than 10%).
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization.
