Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in managing and supervising electrical works for new build construction projects from commencement to completion.
- Review, interpret, and understand electrical construction drawings, shop drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate daily site activities with the main contractor, consultants, architects, other trades, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor project progress and ensure works are completed according to the approved programme and project milestones.
- Attend site meetings, coordination meetings, and technical discussions with the main contractor and project stakeholders.
- Prepare, review, and submit shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, and other project documentation.
- Coordinate material procurement, delivery schedules, and manpower allocation to support site operations.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure electrical installations comply with approved drawings, contract requirements, quality standards, and statutory regulations.
- Identify site issues, resolve technical and coordination problems, and escalate major concerns to the Project Manager when necessary.
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, inspections, and handover activities with consultants, clients, and relevant authorities.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations, company policies, and environmental requirements.
- Maintain accurate project records, including site reports, progress updates, variation orders, and as-built documentation.
- Support project cost control by monitoring material usage, subcontractor progress, and variation works.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager or management.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical construction projects, preferably involving new building developments.
- Good knowledge of electrical installation works, construction practices, and project coordination.
- Ability to read, interpret, and review electrical drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
- Experience coordinating with main contractors, consultants, subcontractors, and relevant authorities.
- Familiarity with project scheduling, site management, testing and commissioning, and project documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD. Knowledge of BIM software will be an added advantage.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
- Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight project deadlines.
