What You Will Do

At SPL, you are an integral part of our team - driving meaningful projects and witnessing the tangible difference your work makes. As an Engineer II, IT Infrastructure focusing on network engineering, you will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of the organisation’s network infrastructure across cloud environments.

Key Tasks You Will Be Involved In

Network Infrastructure Operations

  • Manage and support enterprise network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers) in 24x7 production environments.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware/software; manage user access, permissions, and authentication systems.
  • Ensure high availability, resilience, and performance; perform routine health checks, monitoring, and capacity planning.

Cloud & Hybrid Connectivity (AWS)

  • Design, implement, and manage connectivity between on-premise data centres and AWS cloud environments.
  • Support AWS VPC architecture, VPN (Site-to-Site / Client), and Direct Connect integration.
  • Troubleshoot hybrid connectivity issues across cloud and on-premises, coordinating with telecom providers.

Network Security & Compliance

  • Configure and manage firewalls, security groups, NACLs, network segmentation, and zoning.
  • Implement security best practices aligned with IM8/government standards and PCI DSS where applicable.
  • Work with SecOps on vulnerability remediation, hardening, and incident response.

Monitoring, Performance & Optimisation

  • Monitor network performance using SolarWinds, PRTG, CloudWatch, or equivalent.
  • Analyse traffic patterns, latency, and throughput; identify and resolve bottlenecks.

Incident Management & Troubleshooting

  • Investigate and resolve outages, connectivity, latency, and packet loss issues with cloud teams, telcos, and contractors.
  • Participate in major incident management and root cause analysis (RCA).

Deployment & Change Management

  • Implement network changes following CAB processes; support deployments requiring network updates.
  • Perform validation and rollback planning for changes.

External Connectivity & Vendor Coordination

  • Manage connectivity with external partners, payment gateways, and telecom providers.
  • Coordinate vendor provisioning, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation; monitor connectivity post-provisioning.

Resilience, DR & Business Continuity

  • Design and support network redundancy, failover mechanisms, and DR configurations.
  • Participate in DR exercises and validate failover readiness.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain network diagrams, configurations, SOPs, and runbooks.
  • Recommend improvements for performance, security, and scalability.

Operational Support

  • Provide after-hours support for incidents, maintenance, firmware/software updates, and critical network changes.
