About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join a high-performing global infrastructure team supporting a mission-critical, low-latency network environment. This is a hands-on engineering role responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of enterprise network infrastructure and customer connectivity across multiple global locations.
This position is ideal for experienced network professionals who possess strong networking fundamentals and are passionate about automation, cloud networking, AI-assisted operations, and continuous improvement.
Working within a collaborative global Network Operations Center, you will partner closely with Network Engineering, Infrastructure, Systems Engineering, and customer-facing teams to deliver exceptional operational support while contributing to the evolution of a modern, software-driven NOC.
Key Responsibilities
Network Operations & Customer Connectivity
- Provision, configure, and maintain customer network connectivity across global data centres.
- Support network onboarding, circuit provisioning, migration, decommissioning, and connectivity validation.
- Implement production network changes on routers, switches, and customer-facing infrastructure.
Network Monitoring & Incident Management
- Monitor the health and availability of enterprise network infrastructure and customer connectivity in real time.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network incidents involving routing, switching, latency, packet loss, interface errors, and connectivity issues.
- Respond to incidents promptly, ensuring timely restoration of services while maintaining accurate communication with stakeholders.
Advanced Troubleshooting
- Perform detailed network diagnostics using packet captures, traffic analysis, and telemetry tools.
- Investigate routing, multicast, TCP/IP, and application connectivity issues across complex environments.
- Lead technical investigations and contribute to root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers during incident resolution.
Automation & Network Engineering
- Develop and maintain automation solutions using Python and API-driven integrations.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve operational efficiency, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance troubleshooting workflows.
Customer & Operational Support
- Provide technical support for network connectivity and infrastructure-related enquiries.
- Manage support tickets and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and customers.
- Coordinate planned maintenance activities and communicate service updates professionally.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support a 24x7 global environment.
Technical Skills & Experience
Required Experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Network Engineering or Network Operations.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise networking technologies, including Cisco and/or Arista platforms.
- Hands-on experience with routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
- Experience supporting highly available production environments.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, VPNs, switching, routing, and network security fundamentals.
- Experience with packet capture and network traffic analysis tools.
- Experience with UNIX/Linux command line environments and shell scripting.
- Exposure to AWS networking and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience developing network automation using Python and REST APIs.
- Familiarity with monitoring platforms such as Grafana or similar observability tools.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools or automation platforms is highly desirable.
Preferred Certifications
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CCNP, or equivalent
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or higher
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA Security+
- Corvil or equivalent packet analysis certification (preferred)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
Working Hours
- This role supports a global 24x7 operational environment operating on a rotating 4-day x 10-hour shift schedule.
- Shift timings may vary throughout the year to support global operations and daylight saving requirements, including early morning shifts where applicable.
- The schedule includes one regular weekend working day (Saturday or Sunday).
