Back End Developer

Edison Smart is partnered with a global fintech company that is growing their 24/7 high-throughput infrastructure with a focus on sports and prediction markets. This role suits a mid-to-senior backend engineer who's comfortable in a fast-paced, startup-minded environment and can keep critical transactional systems running reliably around the clock.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize scalable backend services and distributed systems in Golang for 24/7 trading and sports-domain applications
• Contribute to architectural decisions, design reviews, and code review
• Build sports/prediction-market domain knowledge into the core backend, including real-time data feeds and interactive mechanics
• Diagnose and resolve bottlenecks in large-scale, high-concurrency infrastructure
• Provide high-tier operational support for real-time client issues

Requirements

Must-haves:

• Solid mid-to-senior backend experience
• Sports/prediction-market exposure, or strong adjacent trading/transactional domain experience
• Golang, Postgres, Redis, Kafka
• Strong communication, comfortable in cross-functional global teams

Nice-to-haves:

• Transaction-heavy/payment ledger experience
• Concurrent systems, race-condition mitigation, distributed state machines
• Startup/fast-paced environment background
