The Telecom Installation Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing the installation of railway telecommunications systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient railway operations. The role involves coordinating site activities, managing installation teams and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations, and supporting testing and commissioning activities for telecom systems such as MSN, BMIS, GSMR, Fiber Optic Network, Structured Cabling Network, CCTV, PAVA, telephony, VRS, ACS, FAS, Cybersecurity, PIS and Meteorological systems.
Tasks, Roles & Responsibilities
- Supervise installation of railway telecom equipment and cabling systems.
- Ensure work is performed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Coordinate with the Civil, Power, Signaling, and other project teams.
- Monitor quality, safety, and environmental compliance on site.
- Review installation documentation, method statements, and inspection reports.
- Manage the delivery and the handover process to the Consultant and the Client.
- Support testing, commissioning, and system integration activities.
- Resolve technical issues and provide engineering support during installation.
- Track progress and report installation status to project management.
- Ensure compliance with railway standards and client requirements.
