Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to build and enhance high-performance video playback solutions for Android Mobile and Android TV platforms. The ideal candidate has strong Kotlin expertise, experience with Android architecture, and a background in developing scalable, high-quality Android applications with a focus on video streaming.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android applications and SDK components for Mobile and Android TV.
• Build and optimize video playback features for smooth, high-quality streaming experiences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and enhancements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to media streaming, buffering, playback, and DRM.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code using Kotlin.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and CI/CD processes.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and document solutions.
• Stay current with Android SDK updates, Jetpack libraries, and industry best practices.
• Support production issues through periodic on-call rotations when required.
• Mentor junior developers and promote Android development best practices.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of native Android development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and the Android SDK.
• Experience with Android Jetpack libraries, including Jetpack Compose.
• Knowledge of Android architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVI, and Clean Architecture.
• Experience with CI/CD, JUnit, Espresso, and automated testing.
• Experience building scalable, high-performance Android applications.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with Android video playback technologies such as ExoPlayer or MediaPlayer.
• Familiarity with video analytics and telemetry concepts.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with streaming protocols such as HLS and MPEG-DASH.
• Experience integrating Widevine DRM.
• Experience developing Android TV applications.
• Experience building UIs with Jetpack Compose for both mobile and TV platforms.
