AI Transformation Coordinator

Virgin Australia
Australia · Full-time · Associate

This is a hybrid position based from our Brisbane Head Office.

Hello. We’re Virgin Australia. We’re the airline that’s always done things a little different. Our way. The Virgin way. We’re on a mission to make flying better than ‘nice’. And to do that, it takes a team of talented people who are passionate about customer experience, doing the right thing always, with a focus on safety – in the air, on the ground and in our workplaces. A team who values real diversity and inclusion, in a big brand with big ambitions.

What you’ll be doing

As a Coordinator for the AI Transformation portfolio, you'll play a pivotal role in helping Virgin Australia deliver its growing portfolio of AI initiatives.

Working within our AI Transformation team, you'll sit at the centre of multiple AI projects, ensuring teams stay aligned, deliverables stay on track and stakeholders remain informed. This is far more than a traditional administration role. You'll be the connective tissue between business leaders, engineers, data scientists, vendors and project teams as we take AI solutions from concept through to production.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly formed AI CoE that is strategically aligned to the business and rapidly expanding as Virgin Australia accelerates its AI journey.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the planning, coordination and delivery of multiple AI initiatives across the business, operating in an Agile, sprint-based delivery environment
  • Help translate priorities into delivery plans, including quarterly objectives, epics, sprint goals, milestones and measurable outcomes
  • Coordinate sprint ceremonies including planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, showcases and backlog refinement sessions
  • Maintain delivery artefacts including product roadmaps, sprint boards, action logs, decision logs, RAID logs and delivery reporting
  • Track epics, user stories, dependencies, blockers, risks and delivery progress across multiple squads or workstreams
  • Support quarterly planning activities, helping teams align priorities, capacity, dependencies and delivery commitments
  • Help establish and continuously improve Agile delivery practices, reporting rhythms, governance processes and team ways of working
  • Build strong relationships across AI, Technology, Product and Business teams to support fast, focused and successful delivery outcomes

This is a highly visible role that provides exposure to some of the most innovative and strategically important initiatives underway at Virgin Australia.

You’ll be great in this role if you have…

  • Experience in a Project Coordinator, Delivery Coordinator, Agile Delivery Analyst, PMO Analyst, Project Support Officer or similar role
  • Exposure to start-up, scale-up, innovation lab, digital product or agile squad environments
  • Experience supporting AI or software engineering initiatives.
  • Confidence using tools such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, or similar delivery platforms
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, workstreams and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments, including Scrum, sprint planning, backlog management and iterative delivery
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting quarterly planning, roadmap planning, OKRs or portfolio prioritisation processes
  • Understanding of Agile delivery concepts such as Scrum, Kanban, epics, user stories, sprint goals, velocity and retrospectives
  • Experience working with Product Owners, Delivery Leads, engineers, data scientists, designers or software engineering teams
  • Experience coordinating vendors, third-party partners or technology platform providers
  • Exposure to governance, risk, compliance or responsible AI processes in a technology delivery environment

Why join us?

You'll be joining Virgin Australia at a pivotal moment in our AI journey.

This is a unique opportunity to work alongside AI engineers, data scientists, transformation leaders and business stakeholders as we build new AI capabilities across the organisation. You'll gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies while helping shape how AI is delivered and adopted at scale.
