Network Smart Hands Engineer (Workplace Advanced)

Job Responsibilities

Experience: 2–5 Years

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide on-site Smart Hands support for desktops, laptops, monitors, peripherals, cabling, projectors, telephones, and site security devices.
• Perform hardware installation, replacement, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance.
• Support data center operations and assist with application infrastructure activities.
• Assist in diagnosing and resolving basic network issues involving switches, routers, and firewalls under remote guidance.
• Configure routers and switches as instructed by the remote technical team.
• Support hardware integration and operating system/network customization under remote supervision.
• Maintain awareness of backup, tape, and Exchange infrastructure.
• Accurately document work performed and submit clear service reports.
• Coordinate effectively with remote technical teams and customer stakeholders.
• Work independently while following defined processes and best practices.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of PC, laptop, and peripheral hardware.
• Understanding of basic networking concepts, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with remote and cross-functional teams.
• Experience supporting data center environments is an advantage.

Training Requirements

• Must complete the mandatory 1-hour Nutanix Hardware Replacement Training provided by Hemmersbach.
• Must achieve a minimum 90% passing score on the 20-question assessment before being assigned to customer sites.

Language Requirements

• Must be fluent in the local language of the deployment country for customer interaction.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English with the remote support team via phone.
