For our office in Antwerp (Deurne), we’re currently looking for a:

Junior Software Engineer

As Junior Software Engineer you work in an agile, dynamic and changing environment. You contribute to the delivery of the Unifly offerings: product solutions or project implementations. You aspire to improve all aspects of your competences and responsibilities, by proactively seeking guidance, review and advise with your senior colleagues. You will be part of the engineering team and coordinate closely with Project Management & Product Team. As Junior Software Engineer you are reporting to the Head of Engineering.

Responsibilities

• You are an active participant of our day-to-day processes: standups, sprint plannings, pull request reviews, designs and estimations.
• You are an active contributor to our offerings:
• Development of platform and API services
• Project specific integrations and configuration
• Contribute to our automated test suite
• Maintain technical documentation for internal and external audiences.
• You focus on the successful completion of your tasks including providing:
• Consistent focus on quality by means of automated testing.
• Clean code following industry standard conventions.
• Updated documentation of your work.
• You pair with your team in troubleshooting sessions.
• You assist in the successful delivery of our platform at the customer under guidance and mentorship of your team.
• You develop your technical skills continuously and actively seek guidance with your team members.
• You keep an eye out for technical advancements in our technological ecosystem, especially concerning:
• Clean code and software craftsmanship
• Integration frameworks and workflow engines
• Geo-spatial frameworks
• Real-time communication frameworks

Technical and soft skills

Technical skills

• You have obtained at least a bachelor's degree in an IT-related education;
• Experience is not necessary, we prefer to have somebody with a willingness to learn;
• Knowledge of Java, Typescript, Git, DSQL.
• Optional knowledge of Spring Boot, Typescript, Aurelia/React/Vue/Angular, Linux Operating System (Ubuntu);
• Your English language skills are very good (written and spoken).
