The agritech department of Robovision is a start-up within a scaleup. We build upon our platform to develop, deliver, and maintain vision AI software for hundreds of robots in the agriculture industry. Our mission is to spearhead physical AI adoption in agriculture.

The team

We balance supporting our existing robotic solutions with pioneering new, next-generation projects alongside our mechatronics partners.

While our foundation is built on robust software engineering, our day-to-day is driven by advanced 3D computer vision techniques that bridge the gap between code and the physical world.

The role

As a key member of our engineering team, you will design and build the backbone of our 3D robotics software solutions, focused on making high-quality physical AI scalable and repeatable.

Because the physical AI landscape is evolving rapidly, this is a research-heavy role. You will track the latest cutting-edge developments, separate the hype from the reality, and adapt them into stable, reusable software components. You will shape the structural blueprint of these modules to ensure our architecture remains at the forefront of the state-of-the-art, while staying deeply involved in day-to-day coding, delivery, and implementation.

Job Requirements

What You Bring To The Table

• Education & basics: A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
• Core tech stack: Exceptional proficiency in Python and C++, with hands-on experience using modern tooling like Docker and Git.
• The mindset: A research-oriented approach with the ability to digest rapid developments in physical AI and robotics and translate them into stable production-grade software.
• Robotics foundation: A strong background in applied robotics algorithms (e.g., motion planning, sampling methods, or kinematics). You have at least 2 years of experience in this matter.
• Delivery focus: A strong interest in IT infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and continuous delivery to ensure our physical AI solutions remain robust and repeatable.
• Adaptability: The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, moving seamlessly between software and hardware challenges.
• Communication: Strong English communication skills and an open mindset to collaborate effectively across research, engineering, and partner lines. Knowledge of Dutch is considered as an asset.
• Location: you’re based in Belgium. We work in a hybrid mode: at least 3 days in the office (Ghent), up to 2 days working from home.
  
  

Bonus Points If You Have

• Hands-on experience with advanced, cutting-edge robotics paradigms, such as Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models or Whole-Arm Manipulation (WAM).
• Experience with 3D reconstruction, advanced computer vision, or handling the unique challenges of natural produce in agricultural environments.
• Knowledge of optical technology (cameras, lighting setups, sensors) and industrial automation.
• Familiarity with robotics middleware and simulation environments.
