DevOps & Developer Infrastructure Engineer | AUG Contract | Munich | Up to 24 months | Up to €110,000 p.a. (negotiable)
A globally recognised manufacturer of secure communications and test equipment is looking for an experienced DevOps and Developer Infrastructure engineer to join its software development team in Munich. The division develops mission-critical Secure Communications products including tactical radio communication systems deployed across defence and government programmes worldwide.
This is a hands-on engineering role inside an agile Scrum team, not a pure operations or platform management position. You will be writing code and scripts, building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and driving release automation across a regulated software development lifecycle. If you combine genuine software development experience with deep DevOps practice and have worked in a comparable delivery environment, this is worth a close look.
The Role
- Contribute to an agile Scrum team delivering the complete software development lifecycle for Secure Communications products, including CI/CD pipelines and quality metrics
- Develop code and scripts to automate the release build process — increasing speed, reliability and repeatability across teams
- Own and deliver Scrum team work packages within agreed timelines and cost targets
- Coordinate with and support other development teams on CI/CD topics; share expertise across team boundaries
- Conduct code reviews to foster knowledge sharing and drive continuous improvement
- Monitor current technology trends and proactively propose improvements to the development toolchain and processes
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or an equivalent qualification
- Several years of professional experience in software development and DevOps, with a genuine interest in state-of-the-art software engineering
- Solid knowledge of Linux and Unix systems
- Hands-on production experience with Python, CI/CD tools (Git and GitLab), Docker, CMake, Grafana and databases
- Strong interest in new technologies; ability to grasp and communicate complex technical topics clearly; team-oriented with a knowledge-sharing mindset
- Negotiation-level German (C1 or C2) — firm requirement for this role. English B2 or above.
- EU or NATO member-state nationality is required for this position.
Nice to Have
- Experience with the Rust programming language is an advantage.
