Quantitative Python Developer


Job Description:

Our client, a leading organisation, is seeking a Quantitative Python Engineer to develop and enhance advanced modelling solutions, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. The role focuses on high-quality software development and innovation using cutting-edge technologies.


Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with risk management, product management, and engineering teams to design and deliver high-quality modelling solutions.
  • Develop automated tests, technical documentation, and processes to meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Lead technical design efforts and align solutions with enterprise architecture strategies.
  • Identify, explore, and integrate tools and technologies to advance solution development.
  • Estimate development efforts and ensure timely delivery of technical solutions.
  • Maintain and enhance the quality, scalability, and stability of assigned projects.
  • Serve as a steward of solution integrity, ensuring robust architecture and usability.
  • Work on technologies such as Python, AWS, and NoSQL database solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Uphold organisational values and contribute to a culture of excellence.


Experience Required

  • Excellent Python experience required
  • Experience debugging numerical computations and explaining results
  • Experience using AI tools to increase productivity and streamline software development processes
  • Experience in delivering high performing solutions using python, AWS and other modern technologies
  • Experience leading innovation activities and proof of concept exercises
  • A comprehensive knowledge of the technologies used by the team is required
  • An ability to lead technical discussions is required
  • An ability to quickly adopt new technologies and systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills is required
  • Flexibility to work independently or as part of a team is required
  • Experience working in a financial domain


Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases and scalable cloud systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Proven ability to evaluate and integrate third-party solutions.


Educational Requirements

  • A degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Computer Science, or Natural Sciences) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Advanced training or education in quantitative engineering is highly desirable.
