Quantitative Python Developer
Job Description:
Our client, a leading organisation, is seeking a Quantitative Python Engineer to develop and enhance advanced modelling solutions, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. The role focuses on high-quality software development and innovation using cutting-edge technologies.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with risk management, product management, and engineering teams to design and deliver high-quality modelling solutions.
- Develop automated tests, technical documentation, and processes to meet stakeholder requirements.
- Lead technical design efforts and align solutions with enterprise architecture strategies.
- Identify, explore, and integrate tools and technologies to advance solution development.
- Estimate development efforts and ensure timely delivery of technical solutions.
- Maintain and enhance the quality, scalability, and stability of assigned projects.
- Serve as a steward of solution integrity, ensuring robust architecture and usability.
- Work on technologies such as Python, AWS, and NoSQL database solutions.
- Communicate effectively with senior management and other stakeholders.
- Uphold organisational values and contribute to a culture of excellence.
Experience Required
- Excellent Python experience required
- Experience debugging numerical computations and explaining results
- Experience using AI tools to increase productivity and streamline software development processes
- Experience in delivering high performing solutions using python, AWS and other modern technologies
- Experience leading innovation activities and proof of concept exercises
- A comprehensive knowledge of the technologies used by the team is required
- An ability to lead technical discussions is required
- An ability to quickly adopt new technologies and systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills is required
- Flexibility to work independently or as part of a team is required
- Experience working in a financial domain
Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases and scalable cloud systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with agile development methodologies.
- Proven ability to evaluate and integrate third-party solutions.
Educational Requirements
- A degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Computer Science, or Natural Sciences) or equivalent industry experience.
- Advanced training or education in quantitative engineering is highly desirable.
