My client based in Dublin that is expanding its AI capability and is seeking an experienced AI / Machine Learning Engineer to join its growing technology team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on the design, development and deployment of AI and Machine Learning solutions that solve real business challenges. You will collaborate with data scientists, software engineers and business stakeholders to build scalable AI applications, optimise machine learning models and contribute to the organisation's AI strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Learning & AI Development

• Design, develop and deploy machine learning models for production environments.
• Build and optimise predictive models using structured and unstructured data.
• Develop AI-powered solutions including Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM) applications.
• Evaluate model performance and continuously improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Implement feature engineering, model training, validation and monitoring processes.

Data Engineering & MLOps

• Build scalable data pipelines to support machine learning workflows.
• Develop and maintain model deployment pipelines using MLOps best practices.
• Monitor production models and implement model retraining where required.
• Ensure model governance, version control and reproducibility.
• Optimise cloud-based AI infrastructure for performance and scalability.

Collaboration

• Partner with Product Managers, Software Engineers and Data Scientists to translate business requirements into AI solutions.
• Work closely with stakeholders to identify AI opportunities and deliver innovative solutions.
• Support technical design sessions and contribute to AI architecture decisions.
• Present technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Innovation

• Stay current with emerging AI, Machine Learning and Generative AI technologies.
• Evaluate new frameworks, models and tools to improve existing AI capabilities.
• Contribute to AI best practices, documentation and knowledge sharing across the team.

Skills & Experience

• 3+ years' commercial experience in Machine Learning Engineering or AI Engineering.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience building and deploying machine learning models into production.
• Experience with Deep Learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Strong understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
• Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Experience developing AI applications using OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face or similar platforms.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of MLOps tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow or SageMaker is advantageous.
• Experience working with SQL and large datasets.
• Familiarity with vector databases, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and AI agents would be beneficial.
• Experience with Git and modern software development practices.

Desirable Experience

• Experience building Generative AI applications.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering and AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Experience with data engineering technologies including Spark or Databricks.
• Exposure to model monitoring, governance and Responsible AI practices.
• Experience working within Agile development teams.
