We need a talented Senior Data Scientist to join our dynamic AI Lab and help shape the future of energy solutions!
What You'll Do:
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be an integral part of our team, delivering innovative analytics and AI solutions that support both the Power System and the wholesale Energy market in Ireland. Your contributions will directly influence the strategic needs of stakeholders across the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of AI solutions that tackle complex business challenges in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Design and build robust AI and machine learning pipelines and infrastructure.
- Offer expert technical guidance, fostering trusting relationships with stakeholders.
- Evaluate emerging AI techniques and assess their applicability to grid operations and market processes.
- Drive the evolution of our internal development practises and tools.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, setting technical direction and ensuring successful delivery.
- Collaborate with IT Architecture, Enterprise Security, industry stakeholders, software vendors, and data consumers.

Experience: 7+ years in a Data Scientist role or similar, with a focus on AI solution development and implementation.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in statistical analysis, exploratory data analysis, data mining and machine learning techniques.
Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure and familiarity with Fabric and Power Platform tools is a plus.
Programming Proficiency: Strong skills in Python, R and SQL.
AI Knowledge: Experience with Large Language Models (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.), including fine-tuning and prompt engineering practises.
Leadership: Proven experience mentoring junior team members and providing technical leadership.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with an understanding of inter-dependencies across complex applications.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
