Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

The main focus of the team is to ensure Avafin's products and teams have the least downtime possible. To accomplish this, the team is responsible for building and maintaining the IT infrastructure and workflows both on-prem and in the cloud for all teams, reliably deploy and operate our production services and products and manage services used at Avafin.

For our technologies we focus on Infrastructure as Code and use mainly AWS, Terraform, Argo CD, Helm, Kubernetes, Cloudflare, Grafana and Proxmox.

Our IT Department, which is based in Wiener Neustadt, is part of an international Fintech company which provides short and long-term consumer loans in 5 countries within and outside of Europe. With our own platform and websites, we provide an entirely digital lending process so we can guarantee a cashflow to the consumer within only a couple of minutes.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), ensuring consistent and reproducible environments
• Operate ArgoCD as the primary deployment platform and guide engineering teams on GitOps best practices
• Build and standardize the internal Helm chart library and maintain Kubernetes clusters (on-prem and AWS)
• Manage and maintain GitHub organisation settings, repository structure, access controls, and CI/CD workflows via GitHub Actions
• Provision, maintain, and migrate databases across multiple product and functional teams
• Manage access control across AWS, Kubernetes, and ArgoCD
• Maintain network infrastructure, including Zscaler, Cloudflare, and VyOS
• Collaborate with Backend, Frontend, Data, and AI teams to design and troubleshoot infrastructure; automate day-to-day operational tasks and share platform knowledge across the organization

WE EXPECT FROM YOU

• 5+ years of experience in a Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, or DevOps role
• Strong, hands-on AWS experience — designing, operating, and optimising cloud infrastructure at scale
• Deep proficiency with Terraform, Helm, and ArgoCD as core IaC and deployment tooling
• Strong Kubernetes experience in both on-prem and cloud environments
• Familiarity with networking tools such as Zscaler or Cloudflare
• Comfortable working independently, taking ownership, and driving infrastructure improvements proactively
• Ability to guide and upskill engineers across the organization
