Product Owner (Initiation Systems)

RSI Europe is a rapidly growing defense technology company based in Vilnius, Lithuania, developing and producing advanced remotely operated systems for modern military operations. We are seeking a highly driven and technically minded Product Owner for explosives initiation systems to lead the development and management of advanced electronic initiation and activation systems integrated into modern defense platforms. This role will be responsible for shaping and executing product development activities across a portfolio of mission-critical initiation solutions used in complex operational environments.

You will own the product definition, prioritization, and delivery coordination of initiation system capabilities, ensuring alignment between operational needs, engineering execution, manufacturability, and company strategy.

Responsibilities:

• Define and maintain product requirements, operational concepts, and feature priorities for initiation systems;
• Ensure product requirements and development processes align with relevant regulatory, safety, and compliance standards (e.g., functional safety, export control, defense regulations);
• Manage the product lifecycle from concept and prototyping through validation, deployment, and continuous improvement;
• Contribute to and operationalize the product roadmap defined by Product Management and CPO;
• Collaborate closely with hardware, embedded software, systems engineering, manufacturing, and testing teams;
• Define and refine user stories, wanted features, translate technical capabilities and operational requirements into clear product specifications and acceptance criteria;
• Coordinate development activities across multiple product variants and configurations;
• Support integration of initiation systems into broader defense platforms and payload architectures;
• Ensure alignment between technical feasibility, manufacturing readiness, reliability, and product timelines;
• Monitor product performance, testing feedback, and operational learnings to guide iteration and improvement;
• Support customer interactions, demonstrations, and technical discussions when needed.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Systems Engineer, or similar role in defense, embedded systems, robotics, electronics, or other complex technical products;
• Strong understanding of electromechanical or embedded electronic systems;
• Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams across hardware and software domains;
• Ability to manage complex technical products with multiple variants and configurations;
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills;
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced product development environment;
• Strong communication skills and structured thinking.

Nice to have:

• Experience with safety-critical or mission-critical systems;
• Background in embedded systems, defense electronics, UAV systems, or controlled activation systems;
• Experience working with manufacturing and validation processes;
• Understanding of systems engineering principles and product integration;
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, certification processes, or compliance standards in defense or safety-critical industries
• Experience in European funding schemes, like EDF, STEP, Horizon or others.
