PHP & Java Backend Developer

We would like to meet a PHP & Java Backend Developer for a project with a hybrid working project in Lisbon, Portugal.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to solution design, development, and deployment of backend systems
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and technical leadership to define solutions and roadmap
• Support technical decision-making and mentor team members when needed
• Participate actively in the PHP technical community
• Contribute to technical roadmap and innovation initiatives
• Work across modern and legacy systems, driving improvements and transformation
• Represent the company in tech events and knowledge-sharing initiatives

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in PHP development (PHP 8 preferred);
• 2+ years of experience with Java;
• Strong experience in backend development;
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming;
• Knowledge of web architectures and services (REST, SOAP, JSON, HTTP);
• Familiarity with microservices architecture principles;
• Understanding of SOLID principles;
• Experience with relational databases (MSSQL preferred);
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Git, Jira);
• English level B2 or higher;
• Availability for hybrid work (2 days/week in the office).

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud and containerized environments (AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes);
• Knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban);
• Experience or familiarity with TELCO (BSS/OSS) architecture.
