What will be your role

We are looking for a Senior .NET Software Engineer to join our team in Lisbon and contribute to one of the largest digital transformation programmes in the financial services sector.

You'll be working on a modern enterprise platform that enables the integration, processing, and distribution of data across multiple systems, supporting digital products, real-time services, and AI-driven initiatives. As part of a highly skilled engineering team, you'll help build scalable backend services based on event-driven architectures that power solutions used by millions of customers.

Your responsibilities will include

• Designing and developing high-performance backend applications using .NET 6+
• Building event-driven solutions using Kafka to support scalable and resilient distributed systems
• Developing APIs and backend services that integrate with multiple internal and external systems
• Contributing to the design of modern software architectures focused on scalability, performance, and reliability
• Participating in Proofs of Concept (POCs) to evaluate new technologies and architectural approaches
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
• Ensuring code quality through testing, code reviews, and engineering best practices
• Working with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
• Contributing to continuous improvements across architecture, development processes, and platform capabilities

What should you bring to the team

• 4+ years of experience developing backend applications with .NET 6+ (version)
• Strong experience designing and developing distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures
• Proven experience with Apache Kafka
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs
• Solid understanding of software architecture and design principles
• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and microservices
• Experience with Git, CI/CD and automated deployment pipelines
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Availability to work in a hybrid model (3 days/week)
• Fluent Portuguese

Nice to have

• Experience with React
• Experience with Azure
• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Cosmos DB, SingleStore or Starburst
• Experience working in highly regulated environments
• Knowledge of containerization technologies and Kubernetes
• Experience building highly available distributed systems
