Chief Technology Officer

We're partnering with an innovative, stealth-stage technology company that's transforming how scientific research is discovered, connected and utilised. By combining AI, intelligent search and large-scale data infrastructure, the business is developing a platform designed to reshape how researchers, organisations and innovators access and leverage scientific knowledge.

As the company prepares for a fundraising round, they're seeking a Founding Chief Technology Officer to join the leadership team.

This is more than a traditional CTO position. You'll become a key strategic leader, helping define the company's technology vision, product direction and long-term growth.

As Founding CTO, you will:

• Define and execute the company's technology strategy and architecture.
• Lead the development and scaling of the platform from concept through growth.
• Partner closely with the founders to shape the overall direction of the business.
• Play an active role in investor discussions, fundraising and technical due diligence.
• Build, mentor and lead a high-performing engineering team.
• Remain hands-on with architecture, technical decision-making and development where appropriate.
• Establish the engineering culture, technical standards and best practices that will support future expansion.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has a strong background in software engineering and technical leadership.
• Is a visionary leader with excellent communication skills.
• Can confidently engage with investors and articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Leads through technical credibility and enjoys working closely with engineering teams.
• Has experience designing scalable software platforms and modern system architectures.
• Brings experience in AI, machine learning, data platforms or large-scale databases.
• Thrives in fast-paced, ambitious environments where they can have a significant impact.
• A strong understanding of AI technologies, machine learning and scalable data-driven systems will be highly valued.
