Senior Data Scientist

To accelerate its growth in APAC with a focus on India and the Middle East, Capgemini Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join its dynamic team and contribute to the industrialization of its data models. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining advanced data models to solve complex production and engineering problems. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders to ensure that data solutions align with business objectives and deliver actionable insights.

Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for production environments.
• Optimize and maintain models to ensure high performance and scalability.
• Implement best practices for model versioning, monitoring, and retraining.
• Work with large datasets to extract, clean, and preprocess data for analysis.
• Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle.
• Utilize data science techniques to enhance model accuracy and predictive capabilities.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance engineers to ensure models are practical and effective in real-world conditions.
• Monitor and evaluate process performance, providing recommendations for improvements.
• Contribute to the development of data science best practices and standards.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Data Science/Statistics/any engineering field.
• Minimum of 7-8 years of experience, with minimum 3 years as a lead data scientist.
• Strong background in Supervised ML techniques (Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forest, SVM, XGBoost, Neural Networks,...)
• Strong background in Unsupervised ML techniques (K-Means Clustering, Hierarchical Clustering, PCA, DBSCAN, SOMs,…)
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Hands-on expertise in optimization techniques such as Constrained Optimization, Genetic Algorithms, Simulated Annealing.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure.
• Familiarity with sensor technologies and data acquisition systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact effectively with shopfloor engineers.
• Understanding of electrical engineering principles, such as the flow of electrical currents and voltage drops in industrial equipment, is beneficial.
• Awareness about multiphysics simulations helps.
• Knowledge of aluminum smelting is a bonus.
