Located just outside of Oslo, our Devices innovation center is home to 300+ passionate engineers working across hardware, software, mechanics, audio, media processing and artificial intelligence - from concept to product. We strive to create best-in-class video conferencing experiences by bringing together diverse engineering disciplines under one roof.

The Meetings group, based in our Devices innovation center, is hiring a software engineer. The group is responsible for ensuring that Cisco devices deliver a reliable, high-quality experience across every major meeting platform. Cisco is deeply invested in applying artificial intelligence for the benefit of our customers and employees, and the Meetings group plays an active role in this strategy. You will collaborate closely with designers, product management, and partner engineering teams across Cisco to advance our products.

Your Impact

We are seeking a software engineer who is comfortable working across the full stack, from low-level Linux development through to test automation. The successful candidate will combine strong individual ownership with effective collaboration and a commitment to continuous learning.

Responsibilities Include

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining software in C++, Python, and Rust.
  • Integrating software from our meeting platform partners into the Cisco software stack, with a particular focus on Android-based components.
  • Delivering high-quality software with rigorous attention to detail.
  • Driving continuous improvement across both code and engineering processes.
  • Actively leveraging AI-based tools and capabilities to improve engineering productivity and product quality, in line with our company-wide commitment to applying AI for the benefit of customers and employees.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A degree in computer science or a related technical discipline.
  • Professional programming experience in C++, Python, or Rust.
  • Hands-on experience working with Linux.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience with Android development and the broader Android ecosystem.
  • Experience with embedded platforms and low-level programming.
  • A solid foundation in problem-solving, debugging, analytical reasoning and a continuous-learning mindset.
  • A demonstrated interest in device security principles and practices.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills in a cross-functional environment.
