Frontend Engineer

We enable AI for biology with an open data platform and are backed by YC and the investors behind HuggingFace & Recursion. We approach $1M ARR by serving our customers across BigPharma, BioTech & academia. We previously helped grow one of the first Techbio companies (Cellarity) from 3 to 120 and created widely used open-source software: Scanpy, anndata & scverse.

On lamin.ai, users create and manage data lake instances like git repositories (e.g., here). The Svelte foundation and backend APIs are in place, but most features still need to be created.

We're looking for an excellent front-end engineer to drive key feature development.

What You’ll Do

• Design intuitive, performant user interfaces for scientists & ML engineers inspired by products like Notion, GitHub, HuggingFace, and Weights & Biases
• Implement scalable, maintainable, and well-structured code in Svelte
• Continuously improve the platform’s performance and user experience
• Participate in technical discussions and contribute to decision-making that impacts both the front-end and overall user experience
  
  

What We’re Looking For

You are passionate about high-quality design and code and excited about working on a platform that enables science & machine learning.

• Proficiency in frontend frameworks with at least some experience in Svelte
• A strong sense of design and an ability to make complex workflows intuitive and user-friendly
• Excited to learn, solve technical challenges, and continuously improve
• Strong collaboration and communication
• Interest in biotech, life sciences, and/or machine learning
• Bonus: Experience with data platforms
