Technical Leadership (40%)

  • Architect and develop robust, scalable Laravel applications and RESTful APIs
  • Lead technical decisions on the Laravel stack, package selection, and system architecture
  • Implement and advocate for best practices in code quality, testing (PHPUnit, Pest), and security
  • Design and optimize database schemas (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and write efficient Eloquent queries
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI
  • Containerize applications using Docker and manage deployment strategies

Development & Implementation (40%)

  • Build complex features using Laravel's latest features (Laravel 10/11, Livewire, Inertia.js, Sail)
  • Develop and maintain microservices and event-driven architectures
  • Implement real-time features using WebSockets (Laravel Echo, Pusher, Soketi)
  • Optimize application performance through caching (Redis, Memcached), query optimization, and code profiling
  • Integrate third-party APIs and payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal)
  • Write clean, maintainable code following PSR standards and SOLID principles

Team Collaboration (20%)

  • Mentor junior and mid-level developers through code reviews and pair programming
  • Collaborate with frontend developers (React/Vue.js), DevOps, and product teams
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospectives, daily standups)
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Contribute to architectural discussions and tech debt reduction initiatives

Required Qualifications

Must-Have Skills:

  • 5+ years of professional PHP/Laravel development experience
  • Expert knowledge of Laravel ecosystem (Eloquent, Blade, Service Container, Queues, Events)
  • Strong experience with modern PHP (v8.0+, typed properties, attributes, enums)
  • Advanced database skills (MySQL/PostgreSQL, query optimization, indexing)
  • Experience with API development (REST, GraphQL with Lighthouse)
  • Proficiency with testing frameworks (PHPUnit, Pest, Mockery)
  • Experience with version control (Git), branching strategies, and code reviews
  • Knowledge of design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean architecture
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, DigitalOcean, Laravel Vapor/Forge)
  • Familiarity with frontend build tools (Vite, Webpack) and JavaScript frameworks
