Associate Technical Artist (Fresher) (Only Candidates with a Strong Technical Art Portfolio Will Be Considered)
Ruby Seven Studios is looking for an Associate Technical Artist (Fresher) to work at the intersection of game engineering and art pipelines.
This role combines programming skills with an understanding of game assets to build efficient tools, workflows, and systems that help bring creative content into games. You will work with both code and art assets, contributing to pipeline development, asset integration, and game implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Integration & Game Implementation
- Integrate game assets (UI, sprites, textures, etc.) into the game engine using structured workflows.
- Work within game editors such as Unity or Cocos Creator to set up scenes, prefabs, UI layouts, animations, and asset references.
- Assist in implementing and testing game features by integrating assets and validating functionality within the game engine.
- Collaborate with engineers and artists to troubleshoot asset, scene, and editor-related issues.
- Ensure assets follow technical standards, naming conventions, folder structures, and hierarchy guidelines.
- Maintain consistency and quality across content integration.
- Have a basic understanding of Timeline/Animation workflows within the game editor.
- Apply technical problem-solving skills throughout production.
Tool Development
- Build tools or scripts using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C# (any one) to:
- Automate asset processing
- Validate prefabs and configurations
- Improve pipeline efficiency
- Develop solutions that reduce manual effort for artists and designers.
Codebase Contribution
- Work within the game project to:
- Integrate assets into gameplay features through code
- Debug asset integration issues
- Support UI and system-level implementation tasks
Creative & Technical Collaboration
- Understand how visual assets are structured and used in-game.
- Work closely with artists to ensure assets are visually accurate and technically optimized.
- Help balance visual quality with runtime performance.
Performance Optimization
- Optimize assets for:
- Memory usage
- Texture sizes and formats
- Efficient texture atlas usage
- Identify pipeline inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
Required Skills
- Basic programming knowledge in any one of the following:
- C#
- JavaScript/TypeScript
- Python
- Basic hands-on experience with Unity or Cocos Creator.
- Familiarity with core editor workflows, including:
- Scene hierarchy management
- Prefab creation and configuration
- UI setup and layout
- Asset importing and organization
- Basic animation/Timeline workflows
- Ability to navigate, debug, and modify content within a game editor.
- Familiarity with game assets such as sprites, UI elements, and textures.
- Basic debugging and logical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with both programming and art assets.
Good to Have
- Experience with editor scripting or pipeline automation tools.
- Experience with asset workflows or game UI implementation.
- Understanding of texture atlases and basic optimization techniques.
- Passion for both technical systems and creative workflows.
