Our Digital & AI team is the firm's technology and experience powerhouse. We work to develop differentiated services for our clients, while embedding digital as a competency for the whole firm through developing and enabling future-fit tools, capabilities, and mindsets.
The Labs team is the community responsible for the firm's experimentation environment, designing, developing and managing digital platforms, products and solutions, together with the curation, ownership and governance of platforms used by Advance. It does this through the three disciplines of software development, product management, and data science, with a big focus on utilising genAI in all our products and solutions.
About The Role
This is a new role to the team as we continue to expand our capabilities. The role is focused on designing, developing, maintaining, and connecting applications, integrations, and AI-enabled solutions within our Microsoft ecosystems including Azure, Power platform and M365. You'll work within our cross-functional agile teams to create and support client-facing solutions and internal initiatives. As legal work is increasingly digitised, the need to structure, store and manipulate our client's data and our own content is a key differentiator. This role can be based in either Brisbane or Melbourne and will report to our Manager based in Melbourne.

About The Role

Responsibilities May Include
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, secure applications using Microsoft Azure (Function Apps, Logic Apps, API Management, Azure SQL, Service Bus, etc.).
- Implement and manage complex integrations across Power Platform (Canvas/Modern Driven app, Power page and Dataverse ), Microsoft 365 (SharePoint development), and third-party legal-tech or enterprise systems.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, including automated deployment of Azure and Power Platform solutions; Contribute to infrastructure as code (IaC) practices for repeatable and secure deployments.
- Manage environment configuration, release pipelines, and monitoring to ensure smooth operations and minimal downtime.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Developer Associate) are highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Developer role with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure and genAI. Additional experience with the Power platform and M365 development and integration with be highly regarded.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Azure services including Function Apps, Logic Apps, API Management, and Azure AI services. Power platform development experience is desirable.
- Programming Languages: Expertise in programming languages such as Python, C#, JavaScript, or similar.
- DevOps: Experience building and managing Azure CI/CD pipelines and/or Power Platform deployments using Azure DevOps. Understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) practices (Bicep or Terraform).
- Expertise and interest in generative AI and the risks and opportunities it presents in software tools and the development of those tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot complex cloud solutions.
- Experience in a technology innovation role within a professional services business is desirable.
