About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior C / Pro*C Developer to join a high-performing technology team in Sydney. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in C, Pro*C, Oracle Database, PL/SQL, IBM MQ, and Linux/Unix environments. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing mission-critical applications while ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.

This role requires excellent troubleshooting skills, strong database knowledge, and experience working within enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using Pro*C, C, and C++.
• Develop high-performance backend applications integrated with Oracle databases.
• Create and maintain PL/SQL objects including:
• Stored Procedures
• Packages
• Functions
• Triggers
• Perform SQL tuning and query optimization to improve application performance.
• Analyse execution plans and resolve database performance bottlenecks.
• Develop and support IBM MQ-based messaging solutions.
• Troubleshoot MQ messaging issues and monitor queue processing.
• Work in Linux/Unix environments for deployment, troubleshooting, and application support.
• Analyse logs and debug production issues.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, testers, and infrastructure teams.
• Participate in production support, incident resolution, and root cause analysis.
• Prepare technical documentation and support knowledge transfer activities.

• 8+ years of experience in software development.
• Extensive experience in C and Pro*C development.

• Experience supporting Linux/Unix-based applications.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize enterprise applications.
