We are looking for an experienced OT Network Engineer to play a key role in the design, implementation, security, and optimization of industrial network infrastructures across multiple manufacturing sites. You will be responsible for ensuring reliable and secure connectivity between operational technology (OT) environments and enterprise IT systems, supporting Industry 4.0 initiatives and digital transformation projects.
This position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale industrial networking projects, collaborate with international teams, and drive the modernization of critical production environments.
OT Network Design & Implementation
- Design, deploy, and maintain OT network architectures supporting industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA platforms, and production environments.
- Develop secure and scalable network infrastructures that ensure real-time communication and high availability.
- Implement network segmentation and zoning strategies to separate IT and OT environments.
- Contribute to industrial connectivity and digitalization initiatives across multiple sites.
- Secure industrial networks against cyber threats and operational risks.
- Deploy and maintain security technologies including firewalls, IDS, IPS, and Network Access Control (NAC).
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and support patch management activities.
- Ensure compliance with OT cybersecurity best practices and industrial security standards.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and reliability using OT-focused monitoring tools.
- Diagnose and resolve network incidents impacting industrial operations.
- Support real-time production environments by minimizing downtime and improving system resilience.
- Collaborate closely with automation, control system, and IT teams to identify and resolve operational issues.
- Integrate operational technology networks with enterprise IT infrastructures while maintaining security and performance requirements.
- Support data exchange between industrial assets and business systems for monitoring, reporting, and analytics.
- Address challenges related to legacy systems, bandwidth limitations, and latency-sensitive applications.
- Manage upgrades, maintenance, and lifecycle activities for OT network hardware and software.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Develop best practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support disaster recovery planning, redundancy strategies, and business continuity measures.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Operational Technology (OT) environments.
- Strong understanding of industrial networking architectures, protocols, and infrastructure.
- Experience working with industrial systems such as SCADA, MES, Process Historians, and control systems.
- Hands-on knowledge of industrial communication protocols including:
- Modbus
- PROFINET
- Ethernet/IP
- OPC-UA
- MQTT
- DNP3
- Experience with network security technologies and OT cybersecurity practices.
- Proven ability to solve complex technical issues in production environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are considered an asset.
- Willingness to travel internationally when required.
