Android Engineer

An international technology company is looking for an experienced Android Engineer to help build and enhance a large-scale mobile platform used by millions of users globally. Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end delivery of mobile features, from API design through to polished user interface implementation.
• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications using modern development practices.
• Solve complex engineering challenges involving background services, offline synchronization, location services, and intelligent routing.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, designers, and engineering teams to define and deliver new product features.
• Participate in technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Conduct code reviews and promote engineering best practices across the development team.
• Improve development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and overall engineering efficiency.
• Take ownership of components throughout their lifecycle, ensuring quality, maintainability, and timely delivery.
• Support cross-team collaboration by contributing to shared codebases and development standards.
• Share technical knowledge and mentor fellow engineers through collaboration and peer reviews.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience developing Android applications using Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose.
• Solid understanding of MVVM architecture, Dependency Injection, and Clean Architecture principles.
• Experience working with multi-module Android projects.
• Strong knowledge of Android platform capabilities, including background services, battery optimization, and system constraints.
• Experience integrating with backend services through RESTful or microservices-based APIs.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
• Experience working within Agile software development environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and take ownership of technical solutions.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills in English.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with modular Android applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern mobile DevOps practices.
• Experience contributing to shared codebases or internal platform development.
• Passion for continuous learning and adopting modern Android development technologies.
