Game UI/UX Designer - Game Porting (3 months)

Role Description
This full-time remote role is for a Game UI/UX Designer focused on game porting over a 3-month engagement. The designer will adapt and optimize existing game interfaces for console platforms, ensuring layouts, navigation, and controls feel intuitive and consistent with platform guidelines. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing current UI/UX flows, creating wireframes and mockups, iterating on interaction patterns, and collaborating with engineers to implement and refine designs. The role also involves usability reviews, identifying accessibility improvements, and aligning visual elements with performance and input constraints of each console. The designer will work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain design quality while meeting project timelines and technical requirements.

Required Qualifications
- Game Design, UX Design, or similar degree
Responsibilies
- Work with the UX/UI lead to rework a game's UX/UI for consoles and work on new UI elements from scratch
- Create wireframes that follow existing design languages & translate static visual mockups into high-fidelity wireframes
- Take feedback & quickly adapt prototypes
- Implement UX/UI within game-specific pipelines
Required Skills
- Read, write and speak proficiently in English.
- Familiar with UX principles (clarity, efficiency, cohesion, user-centered design, accessibility)
- Familiar with UX for games
- Proficient in Figma
- Familiar with Unity and Unreal Engine
- Good organisation skills, able to follow and upkeep shared UX documentation
- Basic photoshop knowledge for UI asset creation
- Self-motivated, comfortable working in a remote-first environment
- Good attention to detail
- Comfort working in an iterative, deadline-driven setting
- Ability to collaborate effectively with programmers, artists, and producers, and to communicate design decisions
Nice to have
- Previous UI/UX experience in games
- Familiar with the differences between designing for keyboard/mouse and designing for gamepads
- Familiar with setting up UI screens & elements in Unity and Unreal engine
