Artificial Intelligence Engineer

We're working with an innovative tech business that's looking to hire a Senior AI Software Engineer to join their growing team.

This is a hands-on role where you'll be building AI-powered features used by customers every day, using modern AI-native development practices and tools such as Claude Code and the Anthropic Claude API.

You'll work closely with Product and Design, helping to shape how AI is integrated into the platform while writing high-quality production code across the full stack.

What you'll be doing

• Building AI-powered applications using TypeScript, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL and Azure
• Integrating and optimising LLMs within customer-facing products
• Designing scalable databases and backend services
• Creating testing and evaluation frameworks for AI features
• Working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver new product capabilities
• Contributing to engineering best practices and AI development standards

What we're looking for

• Commercial experience building AI/LLM-powered products
• Strong skills in TypeScript/Node.js and Python
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Azure
• Understanding of AI challenges such as prompt injection, hallucinations and model evaluation
• Ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment

Nice to have

• Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector databases or semantic search
• Experience building conversational AI products
• Familiarity with Azure monitoring and observability tools
