Senior AI Engineer

Summary

We’re looking for a Senior AI Engineer (NLP) to join the team and help shape the core AI/ML architecture powering our platform.

This is a high-impact role in an early-stage startup where you’ll design, build, and deploy ML systems end-to-end, working directly with the founding team to deliver 10x value to our clients.

You’ll be responsible for building intelligent systems for document processing, web data parsing, classification, search, and matching, using modern AI/LLM approaches in production environments.

Location: London or Porto (2x/week at the office)

Salary: up to €90k/year

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and own ML/AI systems at the core of the platform
• Work end-to-end across model development, training, deployment, and monitoring
• Build intelligent systems for document processing, web parsing, classification, search, and entity matching
• Apply modern AI/LLM techniques to solve complex, open-ended product problems
• Run experiments to explore new models, data strategies, and agentic AI approaches
• Balance innovation with production constraints such as reliability, performance, and safety
• Ensure ML systems are robust, tested, and production-ready
• Help define best practices, standards, and tooling for AI development across the company
• Collaborate closely with engineers and founders to align AI capabilities with product needs
• Continuously improve how we build, evaluate, and deploy AI systems

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience as a Machine Learning / AI Engineer in product-focused environments
• Strong production-level Python experience
• Hands-on experience building AI/ML systems (LLMs, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, multi-agent systems, conversational AI)
• Strong understanding of modern ML/AI architectures and tools
• Experience taking models from experimentation to production
• Ability to work across the full stack of data, ML, and backend systems when needed
• Strong analytical thinking and comfort with ambiguous, open-ended problems
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in fast-paced environments
• Degree in Computer Science or related field
