Sr. Staff Software Engineer, iOS - Safety

About The Role

As a Senior Staff iOS Engineer , you are a Global Architect for Safety products company-wide. You orchestrate large-scale technology transformations using real-time telematics and machine learning to prevent unsafe behavior for millions of users.

What You'll Do

• Technical Strategy: Define engineering best practices across the entire company, evangelizing new technologies and reconciling architectural gaps.
• Innovation at Scale: Build technical designs for telematics and mobile sensing that increase developer velocity and reduce system complexity.
• Mentorship & Brand: Act as a technical brand ambassador through whitepapers and patents to inspire engineers across Uber.
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• Experience: 12+ years of mobile engineering experience with specific expertise in high-scale iOS development.
• Technical Depth: Mastery of Swift, Objective-C, and iOS SDKs for large-scale mobile ecosystems.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Degree: Master's or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strategic Influence: Proven ability to build and scale regional development centers while maintaining global alignment.
• Domain Expertise: Deep experience in Logistics, Fintech, or Retail systems at a global "Big Tech" scale.
• Architectural Migration: Experience transitioning legacy monolithic architectures to modular, cell-based, or "Always-On" paradigms.
