  • Be across operations, incident response, Azure security
  • Collaborative internal security team with strong ownership and visibility
  • Permanent opportunity, $140k-$150k base, Hybrid working

This is a great opportunity for a hands-on Cyber Security Analyst to join a top financial services firm based in Melbourne CBD. This is not a junior role; you will need at least 4 years' experience in a real cyber security environment, ideally within enterprise, consultancy, financial services or banking.

The role suits someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership and can work across security operations, Azure security, networking, incident response and broader uplift. You will join a high-calibre team with exceptional communication standards, a proactive mindset and an "own it and do it" culture, working alongside an experienced and highly regarded security leader.

About the role

  • Support day-to-day security operations across cloud, network, endpoint, email and broader security environments.
  • Work across Azure security, networking and internal security controls to help improve visibility, resilience and response capability.
  • Respond to real security incidents, not just alerts, including investigation, containment, escalation and remediation activities.
  • Partner with internal technology teams and external providers to improve processes, tooling and security outcomes.
  • Help identify gaps across the environment and take ownership of practical improvements.
  • Work with a range of security tools, with potential exposure to platforms such as CrowdStrike, Varonis, Palo Alto and Proofpoint.

About you

  • Previous experience in a cyber security analyst, security engineer, security operations or similar hands-on security role.
  • Strong generalist security background, with the ability to work across incidents, tooling, networking, cloud and operational security.
  • Experience with Azure security and a solid understanding of networking fundamentals.
  • Practical incident response experience, including working through real incidents rather than only monitoring alerts.
  • Easy-going, trustworthy and reliable, with a strong work ethic and a high level of ownership.
  • Exposure to CrowdStrike, Varonis, Palo Alto or Proofpoint would be beneficial, but is not essential.

If you are driven, have at least 4 years of proven experience, can own and drive your space, and hold AUS/NZ PR or Citizenship, please apply now!
