About your new Role

This role presents an excellent opportunity for a Cyber Security Analyst or infrastructure specialist with extensive cyber experience to take ownership and lead a cyber security function.

As the Cyber Security Engineer, you will have ownership of the security stance for the organisation through the deployment and configuration of security tools (primarily Microsoft), that will provide monitoring, detection, and response management of threats across both on-prem and cloud environments.

Some of the key tasks include:

• Uplift the cybersecurity posture of the existing IT environment.
• Identify potential weaknesses and opportunities to uplift security using the Microsoft XDR suite of technologies.
• Lead the end-to-end greenfield deployment of Microsoft Sentinel, including data connectors, custom analytics rules & Advanced UEBA.
• Conduct a vulnerability assessment including providing enhancements.
• Perform automation against cyber threats SOAR playbooks (Logic Apps/Power Automate)
• Proactively approach detection and response to cyber threats.
• Deploy technical solutions to enhance the security posture across the organisation.
• Lead the internal Cyber Governance Committee including the preparation and submission of reports to the exec team.

About You

• You will hold a relevant IT and / or Cyber qualification coupled with Microsoft cyber certifications. (SC-200 ideal)
• You are skilled at working with Microsoft tools, and have direct, hands on experience implementing Sentinel and XDR products.
• You bring experience with Entra ID and Microsoft Endpoint Manager
• Understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK, NIST Framework, Zero Trust and ACSC Essential8
• You understand network technology, firewall and Hypervisors.
• You come from a dedicated Cyber Security position either with an inhouse team or from a cyber consultancy.
• You are a proactive and concise communicator with a passion for cyber security and working with stakeholders
