PHP Software Engineer (AI-Enabled Engineering)

Salary: €70,000 – €75,000 DOE + bonus + benefits

Hybrid: 2 days onsite in Dublin city center

Our client, a leading international technology organisation, is looking for a PHP Software Engineer to join a high-impact Integration Team at the centre of the business.

This is an opportunity to work on multiple business-critical projects, build scalable integrations and APIs, and leverage AI-powered development tools to improve delivery, automation, and engineering efficiency.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Build and maintain backend services, integrations, and RESTful APIs.
• Monitor and support live production systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues.
• Contribute to system improvements, automation, and CI/CD processes.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and cross-functional teams.
• Use Claude Code, Copilot, and AI tools to accelerate development and improve workflows.
• Review and validate AI-generated code to ensure production-quality standards.

What We're Looking For - Must-Haves:

• 4+ years' experience in backend software development.
• Strong experience with PHP (7/8).
• Experience with Symfony (highly preferred).
• Proven experience building RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub/GitLab).
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and production support skills.
• Understanding of monitoring and observability.
• Experience using AI development tools (Claude Code, Copilot, etc.).
• Ability to assess, validate, and improve AI-generated code.
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have

• Kubernetes or container orchestration experience.
• Knowledge of messaging, queuing systems, or ESB architectures.
• Experience with PHPUnit, ELK/Kibana, or distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).
