Job Description

Assist in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures.
Monitor and analyze security alerts and logs to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network and application systems.
Assist in the investigation and response to security incidents and breaches.
Participate in risk assessments and security audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement security controls and best practices.
Research and stay updated with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
Document security findings and create detailed reports for management review.

Required Qualifications

Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
Familiarity with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
Experience or coursework in computer science, information security, or a related field.
Ability to analyze and interpret security data and logs.
Understanding of network protocols and operating systems.
Proficiency with programming and scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Bash.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Passion for cybersecurity and protecting digital assets.
Would be a plus:

Familiarity with ethical hacking and penetration testing methodologies.
Basic understanding of regulatory compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI DSS.

Skills and Experience Gained By The End Of The Internship

Hands-on experience in cybersecurity practices and the implementation of security measures.
Exposure to real-world security threats and incident response procedures.
Advanced skills in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
Enhanced ability to monitor and analyze security alerts and logs.
Understanding of risk assessment and security audit processes.
Experience using industry-standard security tools and technologies.
Improved communication and teamwork skills in a professional cybersecurity setting.
