Job Description:

Are you a passionate Backend Engineer who enjoys building scalable services, solving complex data challenges, and working in a fast-paced agile environment? We’re looking for a talented engineer to join our team and help design, build, and operate critical backend services that integrate and synchronize data across enterprise platforms.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to design, build, and operate backend services for data integration and replication
• Develop and maintain robust ETL workflows and APIs to synchronize data between Atlassian platforms and HSBC systems
• Design and deliver new features with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance
• Work directly with internal customers to troubleshoot issues, support operations, and address feature requests
• Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases, ensuring strong data integrity and efficiency
• Contribute to an Agile, CI/CD-driven environment with frequent, high-quality releases
• Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and team knowledge sharing
• Continuously learn, grow, and contribute to engineering excellence

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience in Java, especially with the Spring Framework
• Strong experience in at least 2–3 of the following areas:
• API development
• SQL / PostgreSQL database management
• ETL workflows
• React
• Solid troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in Agile teams, including tools like Jira and Confluence
• Good understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful service design
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• English proficiency: B2+

Nice to Have:

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Knowledge of Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
• Background in Systems Administration across Linux / AIX / WAS platforms
