Lead Data Architect

Synopsis

Etihad Airways is seeking an experienced Data Architect to design and shape the future of our enterprise data ecosystem. This role will be instrumental in defining scalable data architectures, driving cloud transformation initiatives, and enabling advanced analytics, AI, and business intelligence capabilities across the organization.

Accountabilities

• Design and govern enterprise-wide data solutions aligned with business strategy, architecture standards, and technology roadmaps.
• Lead the architecture of modern data platforms, data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics solutions using Azure technologies.
• Define and promote architecture standards, reusable patterns, governance frameworks, and best practices across the Data Agile Release Train (DART).
• Partner with business, product, engineering, and enterprise architecture teams to deliver scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions.
• Drive data governance capabilities including data quality, lineage, metadata management, reference data management, and lifecycle management.
• Provide architectural leadership across Agile and Waterfall delivery initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles and target-state designs.
• Lead a team of data architects.
  
  

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Data or Solution Architecture within complex environments.
• Proven delivery of Data Warehouse, Big Data, BI, Analytics, and Data Science solutions.
• Strong expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Cosmos DB, Azure Data Lake, and modern data integration platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Data Modelling, Governance, Quality, Lineage, Metadata Management, and Data Security.
• Experience defining architecture standards, technology roadmaps, and cloud transformation strategies.
• Experience within the airline, aviation, travel, or transportation industry preferred, with knowledge of domains such as PNR, Ticketing, Loyalty, Revenue Management, Operations, and Customer Data.
• Exposure to AI, Machine Learning, and Advanced Analytics platforms.
• Architecture certification such as TOGAF, SAFe Architect, ArchiMate, Open CA, or equivalent.
