Full Stack Engineer

Full Stack Developer (React, Node.js) – Energy – Brussels

Day rate: €500 - €600

Duration: 12 months

My client is looking for a Full Stack Developer to join on a freelance mission for 12 months. The candidate should be able to perform tasks described below:

• Lead design, development, and delivery of scalable, high-performance web applications.
• Take ownership of project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
• Drive architecture decisions and best practices across the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and manage technical expectations.
• Enforce coding standards, conduct code reviews, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Optimize applications for performance, security, and scalability.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and implement long-term solutions.
• Mentor development team members and provide technical guidance.
• Manage and resolve technical issues via the Service Desk ticketing system.
• Administer and maintain GitHub/GitLab repositories, including CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) including workflows and integrations.

Required qualifications.

The Full Stack Developer requires the following skills and abilities:

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Minimum 5+ years of professional full-stack development experience.
• Strong proficiency in front-end technologies: JavaScript, React.js/Vue.js, HTML5, CSS3.
• Strong proficiency in backend technologies: Node.js, Python, Ruby on Rails.
• Strong experience with DevOps practices (CI/CD, deployment, monitoring).
• Strong Hands-on expertise with Docker/containerization.
• Proven experience in project management / delivery ownership.
• Extensive experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and scalable architectures.
• Strong database expertise: PostgreSQL/MySQL, including performance optimization.
• Experience managing Git-based repositories (GitHub/GitLab) at scale.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle.
