Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Lead DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on RunDeck to join our Enterprise Services Platform Team. You will play a critical role in delivering and maintaining a robust Automation and Orchestration platform while leveraging RunDeck to streamline and enhance operational efficiency. This position requires a proactive individual who can collaborate with a team of DevOps and Integration Engineers to develop and implement cutting-edge automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Support and Development

• Manage the full lifecycle of orchestration and automation components, including architecture, design, planning, implementation, and administration.
• Design and develop integrations and workflows that enhance process efficiency and enable rapid automation opportunities.
• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across Data Centre pillars and applications to deliver tailored automation solutions.

RunDeck Implementation and Management

• Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of RunDeck to orchestrate and automate routine operational tasks.
• Develop and manage job workflows, scripts, and templates within RunDeck to optimize infrastructure and application operations.
• Integrate RunDeck with other enterprise tools and platforms using plugins and APIs for seamless automation.
• Monitor and maintain RunDeck environments, ensuring performance, reliability, and security.
• Provide training and documentation for RunDeck usage, empowering teams to adopt automation practices effectively.

Automation and Integration

• Develop reusable scripts and automation tools using Terraform, Python, and Ansible for infrastructure and server management.
• Utilize APIs to integrate enterprise systems and deliver efficient, automated workflows.
• Participate in the development and execution of test cases and plans to ensure reliable automation deployments.

Collaboration and Support

• Work closely with end-users and infrastructure support engineers to identify and implement automation opportunities.
• Provide direct support to users, including on-call support during non-core hours as needed.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing

• Create detailed technical and operational documentation for automation solutions, with a focus on RunDeck configurations and workflows.
• Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance team expertise and platform adoption.

Required Skills and Experience

RunDeck Expertise (Must-Have)

• Proven experience in designing, configuring, and deploying RunDeck for automation and orchestration.
• Strong knowledge of RunDeck job workflows, scripting, and plugin integrations.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting and optimizing RunDeck environments to ensure scalability and reliability.

Technical Expertise

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Cloud Automation and Systems Management.
• Proficient in Terraform, Python, and Ansible for infrastructure automation.
• Strong Linux administration skills.
• Familiarity with Git for code base management (GitLabCI experience is a plus).

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently or collaboratively.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related IT field.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with tools such as Datadog and BigPanda.
• Experience in system integration using REST APIs.
• Track record of building scalable, high-performance customer-facing systems.
• Experience with enterprise-wide deployment planning and support for critical applications and infrastructure.
